The FF Plus today obtained an urgent interdict against the Mogale City council on behalf of the residents of a so-called white squatter camp at Kroningspark in Krugersdorp. The community, where hundreds of poor Afrikaners are living, has had their power cut off without prior notice by the city council. As a result of the power disruption food which is kept in freezers to feed the community has been rotted and at least one person was admitted to hospital because life sustaining medical equipment which works with power, could not be kept running.

The FF Plus’ councillor for Krugersdorp, Mr. Tommy Steenkamp, tried in vain yesterday to convince the council to re-connect the power again. The result is that the FF Plus brought a successful urgent court application late this afternoon in the Krugersdorp Magistrate’s Court.

“It is a pity that the ANC-controlled city council had acted in such a callous way against the poor residents of Kroningspark. The FF Plus will continue to protect the rights of its supporters in every way possible”, Mr. Steenkamp said.
