DR. PIETER W.A. MULDER
  1. Dr. Pieter Mulder completed his High School education at Riebeeck High School in Randfontein. He was amongst others head boy, played rugby for the first rugby team and was the Victor Ludorum in athletics.

  2. After school he completed his military training. At the end of the year the honorary sable was awarded to him for the best officer of the year.

  3. He studied at the Potchefstroom University for Christian Higher Education where he obtained his Doctorate in Communication Studies at the age of 26 years.

  4. As student he was amongst others chairperson of the Alabama Students Music Group; played rugby for the University’s U/20 rugby team and was chairperson of the Student Representative Council.

  5. During 1981 he studied at the University of Wisconsin, Madison in the United States of America and completed his post-doctoral studies in International Communication studies.

  6. He was a lecturer for fourteen years and professor of Communication Studies at the Potchefstroom University for Christian Higher Education.

  7. As lecturer, he was elected as deputy president of the South African Communication Lecturers Association and was also a member of the Public Business Institute.

  8. In 1988 he was elected as Parliamentary Member for the Schweizer-Reneke constituency.

  9. He was a founding member of the Freedom Front in 1994 and was elected to Parliament again in the same year.

  10. He was the National Chairperson of the Freedom Front from 1994 until 2001 and was elected as leader of the Freedom Front Plus in April 2001.

  11. In 2008 his book Can Afrikaners toyi-toyi? was published in which he explains an inside view of events and inter-personal relations in Parliament and South African politics.

  12. In 2009 he was appointed as deputy minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries by president Zuma.

  13. He served as church council member for his church at various times and is consistently active in Afrikaner cultural organizations and activities.

  14. He plays squash, reads and is interested in astronomy, computers and history.

  15. Dr. Pieter Mulder is married to Triena Roestorf, they have five children and lives in Potchefstroom. Triena is a Mathematics teacher and completed her B.SC Hons. degree at the University of Potchefstroom for Christian Higher Education.
