P.J GROENEWALD (PIETER)
  1. Mr. Pieter Groenewald is a member of the Executive Council of the Freedom Front Plus as well as provincial leader of the FF Plus in the Northwest Province.

  2. Mr. Groenewald obtained a B-Juris. degree in Law as well as a postgraduate University Diploma in Communication Studies at the Potchefstroom University.

  3. He worked at Armscor (Heavy Calibre Ammunition) previously in the capacity of Section Manager: Product and Process Development.

  4. He was elected as Parliamentary Member following a term as Mayor of Stilfontein. He was also a Councillor of the West-Vaal Regional Services Council and Councillor of the Association of Local Government Authorities in the Western Transvaal.

  5. Pieter was a founding member of the Freedom Front and in March 1994 became involved in the FF’s establishment. He was re-elected as a Member of Parliament on 27 April 1994 – a position which he still holds.

  6. Mr. Groenewald was chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Defence from 1994 until 1999. At present he is a member of the Portfolio Committee on Police and Defence. He was also a member of the committee drafting the Constitution.

  7. He has undertaken various international study tours and is a regular speaker at seminars and conferences.

  8. Mr. Pieter Groenewald recently obtained his Masters degree in Management and Development at the Potchefstroom University in the Northwest Province. The title of his thesis was: “The floor-crossing clause as factor in the redevelopment of South Africa’s party politics”.
